DeKalb County, GA — DeKalb County Police say the arrest of a “wanted subject” on Saturday evening in greater Decatur drew a SWAT team response.

A police spokesperson said that officers responded to the 1200 block of June Drive around 6:20 p.m. to locate the person, described as a man in his mid-30s.

“Officers attempted to surround the subject … as he left the residence but were unsuccessful,” a spokesperson for the Police Department said. “At that point, the subject fled the scene only to return to the location shortly after. The subject then hid inside the residence resulting in a SWAT activation. Our SWAT team successfully made entry into the home and took the suspect into custody without further incident.”

Police didn’t provide any additional information.
