Last year’s Color Vibe race was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. City officials are in talks with Color Vibe about potentially hosting the race on June 12, according to Visitor’s Center manager Kim Cumbie.

Color Vibe events in the past have taken place at VFW Park on Gordon Street with a portion of proceeds going to the Visitor’s Center.

Under the proposed agreement, Color Vibe will donate $1 per paid adult participant or $3,000 to the charity partner, whichever is greater. This donation will be provided to the charity partner within 30 days following the Color Vibe event.

The agreement also says, “Both parties agree to work together to either re-schedule or cancel the event in the case of COVID 19 numbers rising, or lack of public interest in the event due to the ongoing pandemic.”

Other business on the March 2 agenda includes:

– A $7,194 contract for service between Faith Works In Action and the city of Stone Mountain and the Senior Connect Program

– An $88,970 lease agreement between the city of Stone Mountain and Georgia Municipal Association for two Dodge Charger police vehicles and equipment.

– A request for disposal of city assets/declaration of surplus property for city assets stored at the Rock Gym facility
