Clarkston, GA — A DeKalb County school librarian has been arrested on accusations of possessing child pornography.

DeKalb County Police on March 1 arrested Frank Rogers, 52, a Clarkston man who worked at Wynbrooke Elementary School in Stone Mountain.

“His arrest comes after the DeKalb County Internet Crimes Against Children Unit received an anonymous tip while working in partnership with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations,” a spokesperson for the DeKalb County Police Department said. “The tip alleged that Rogers engaged in inappropriate sexual activity with minors he met on social media. The tip also alleged that Rogers possessed child pornography. A search of Rogers’ home and digital devices revealed hundreds of images of apparent child pornography. Due to these alarming allegations and his profession, DeKalb County ICAC detectives are continuing to investigate all leads. If you have any tips or information, you are urged to call CyberTipline at 1-800-THE-LOST or DKPD’s Special Victims office at 770-724-7710. Tips can remain anonymous.”

Police received the cyber-tip on Feb. 23 through the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

“A cyber-tip is a tip that is created by The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) based on information that is provided by Internet Service Providers (ISP) or from members of the public,” the police report says. “In this case an anonymous citizen contacted NCMEC and reported that the suspect was in possession of erotic pictures of young boys (8-10) in various states of undress interspersed with pictures of adult pornography on one of his home computers. The citizen also advised that the suspect is a librarian at an elementary school in DeKalb County.”

The police report says the officer met with Rogers at the Elementary School where he turned over his cell phone but declined to provide the pass code.

He was still in the county jail as of March 2.

The DeKalb County school district says Rogers resigned.

“On March 1, 2021, DeKalb County School District Public Safety Department was notified of Frank Rogers’ arrest,” the district said. “Mr. Rogers has resigned from DeKalb County School District. The case is being investigated and handled by DeKalb County Police Department.”
