$5,000 reward offered in attack on 65-year-old woman

DeKalb County, GA — The DeKalb County Police Department announced that Crime Stoppers is now offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a person who attacked and robbed a 65-year-old woman.

The standard award is $2,000.

“At approximately 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, shortly after arriving to her Bowling Green Way home, an unknown male approached the victim from behind and began attacking her,” the Police Department said. “The victim was able to escape to a neighbor’s home for help, where police were called.”

The suspect fled with the victim’s purse, keys and cell phone. The victim was transported to a hospital where she was treated for multiple cuts on her face.

The suspect hasn’t been identified. He’s described as a tall Black man in his late 30s to early 40s, wearing a dark-colored skull cap, dark jacket and dark-colored pants. Anyone with information is urged to Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
