DeKalb Sheriff’s Office announces arrest of man accused of murdering woman in Tucker motel

Tucker, GA — The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and the Gwinnett County Police Department arrested a man accused of murdering a woman in a Tucker motel last month.

The Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest on June 2.

Gamontevis Leonard, 34, of Atlanta, Georgia is accused of murdering 35 year-old Shamere Moore. According to the arrest warrant, she was stabbed in the chest and shot in the head, causing her death. The murder occurred at 1795 Crescent Centre Boulevard on May 22, 2021 at a Studio 6 motel.

He was arrested in Gwinnett County near I-85 and Jimmy Carter Boulevard. He was transported to the DeKalb County Jail and he was still in jail as of Wednesday evening, June 2.
