Tucker, GA —The city of Tucker invites the public to visit Main Street on July 3 for a fireworks show.

“Holiday revelers will be back on Tucker’s Main Street on July 3 for the City’s annual Celebration of Independence and Fireworks Spectacular sponsored by Discover DeKalb and Jacobs,” the announcement from the city says. “The event will feature a trio of live cover bands, a food truck alley, a t-shirt giveaway and, of course, Tucker’s most stunning pyrotechnics show.”

The city did not have fireworks in 2020 due to the pandemic.

“As with so many other things in 2020, we had to go virtual last year with our fireworks show and concert,” Tucker spokesperson Matt Holmes said. “Well, what a difference a year makes! With more and more people getting vaccinated every day, we are proud to invite folks to the biggest July 3 party the City of Tucker has ever seen.”

The event starts at 6 p.m. The Vibe, a party band, will perform Top 40 hits and they will be followed by Hu$h Money, a rock-and-roll cover band.

The fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m. and then another band, 80s cover band Shyanne, will perform.

“We are amped up to headline the City of Tucker July 3rd Celebration,” said Vic Valmus of Shyanne. “We are going to rock out all your favorite 80s rock hits: Journey, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, AC/DC, .38 Special and many more.”

This is the fourth year the city has held its Independence fireworks celebration.

“Drawing thousands of people each year to Tucker’s Main Street, it is the area’s biggest and liveliest celebration of America’s birthday,” the announcement from the city says.

The event is also part of Tucker’s Summer of Fun series.

“Earlier this month, the [Summer of Fun] series kicked off with the popular Movie on Main event,” the announcement from the city says. “It will wrap up on August 3 with the City’s National Night Out celebration.”
