Tucker, GA – Tucker’s Finance Department received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting this week, honoring the quality and accuracy of the City’s 2020 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR), a press release said.

The award, given by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA), recognizes municipalities whose CAFRs are clearly written to motivate residents and other stakeholders to read and take note of the report.

“This is a big honor for our Finance staff, one that we can be very proud of,” said City Manager Tami Hanlin. “We value transparency above all else, and for the people of Tucker to have clear and transparent access to every penny of our revenues and expenditures, it truly sets Tucker apart.”

According to GFOA, the Certificate of Achievement “is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.”

Tucker’s Finance Department has been run by Finance Director Robert Porche since 2020. It is charged with overseeing an approximately $16 million budget in Fiscal Year 2022.
