Stone Mountain, GA — Bookstore and wine bar The Vibrary, located 970 Main Street, is holding a grand opening event on Aug. 12.

The business has been open sporadically since July.

The grand opening event will begin at 5 p.m.

The owner is Candace Walker.

“I want it to be a place that’s very inclusive, where we only have good vibes and people can come and relax and have a book and look at it or come with some friends,” Walker told The Tucker Observer.

Perhaps more unique than The Vibrary’s concept is its owner’s background. Walker is a forensic scientist who worked in the GBI crime lab before serving two stints in Afghanistan as an investigator for the Army. She became the crime lab director for the Atlanta Police Department in 2016, with the AJC calling her the lab’s ‘new star scientist.

Walker will pull double duty by keeping her APD job and running The Vibrary.
