Tucker, GA — If your child likes to sing, play instruments, and express themselves through the arts, then children’s choirs at Tucker First United Methodist Church (Tucker First UMC) might be the place for them. Everyone is welcome to join in at the Children’s Choir Kickoff on Wednesday, August 25, a press release said.
Those in attendance can meet the new children’s choir director, Beverly Blissit, register for choirs, pick-up a children’s choir home packet and enjoy an outdoor drum circle. All activities will be outside in the back parking lot, socially distanced and masks are required.
– Cherub Choir (4- and 5-year-olds) will have a meet and greet at 5 pm. Meet Beverly and pick-up your cherub choir home packet.
– Carol Choir (1st and 2nd graders) will meet from 5:45-6:15 pm. Meet Beverly, pick-up your choir home packet and enjoy a drum circle.
– Wesley Singers (3rd-5th graders) will meet from 6:30-7 pm. Meet Beverly, pickup your choir home packet and enjoy a drum circle.
During September, all children’s choirs will have a virtual choir rehearsal. Children will be given a home packet at the kickoff to be used for rehearsals. Cherubs will be given a home packet with props at the kickoff to be used with their weekly rehearsals. An in-person, outside, socially distanced, masked event will be offered every month for Carol Choir and Wesley Singers members until it is safe to sing in person.
