Tucker, GA — Phoenix Wellness Center owner Natalie Phoenix held a public participation meeting on Aug. 30 as part of the process to open a spa at 2088 Idlewood Road in Tucker. This will be the second location for Phoenix, who runs a spa by the same name in Little Five Points that offers skincare, chiropractic, several kinds of massage therapy and flotation therapy.

She described the business model as “a holistic collective.” The spa will have four treatment rooms plus a cloud room, a tranquil space where guests can relax between treatments.

“I’m really against fast-moving wellness,” Phoenix said, describing the cloud room as a place to sit in a cozy swing and enjoy a cup of tea.

Clientele is typically between the age of 25 and 60. One Phoenix Wellness Center therapist is trained and licensed to treat pediatric clients.  The spa will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Phoenix Wellness Center has been maintaining strict COVID-19 protocols, including requiring clients to wear masks, take their temperature, remove shoes and wash hands upon entering. Clients are asked to submit proof of vaccination prior to their appointment.

Phoenix said feedback about strict protocols was very positive, and brought success to her business. Clients felt good about the COVID-19 protocols and trusted Phoenix, she said, telling her the spa was the only place during the pandemic they felt safe. The entire staff is vaccinated.

Phoenix, who has lived in Tucker for seven years, said she is looking forward to walking or riding her bike to the new location.

The next step in the process is to complete the city’s Special Land Use Permit application and appear before the Planning Commission, tentatively set for Oct. 21.
