Tucker, GA — Tucker has a full roster of events coming up this fall. Between social events and the upcoming election for mayor and City Council, the city is bustling with opportunities.  

The Rotary Club of Tucker is hosting a series of lunchtime meetings to hear from candidates. The meetings are also available virtually, and all events will be held at 12:15 p.m.

— Sept. 9: Neal Stubblefield, District 3, Post 1, and Christine Bloodworth, District 1, Post 2

— Sept. 23: Virginia Rece, District 1, Post 2, and Roger Orlando, District 1, Post 1

— Sept. 30: Shawn Woods, District 1, Post 2, and Alexis Weaver, District 3, Post 1

— Oct. 7: Robin Biro, mayoral candidate

— Oct. 14: Frank Auman, current mayor, running for re-election 

On Sept. 18 from 4-7 p.m., Sip and Stroll will be held at Tucker Nature Preserve. The city’s annual event is put on by Tucker Parks and Recreation Department. Stroll through the park with a glass of cider or wine, see the new bee colony and enjoy local art.   

If beer is on your list, check out a few options in the city. Tucker Brewing Company’s Tucktoberfest runs Sept. 18 to Oct. 3, with German-style beer and food, yodeling contests and other games. High Card Brewery on Main Street is hosting Downtown Tucker Comedy and Beer Festival on Sept. 25.   

On Oct. 2, Taste of Tucker is back with 20 restaurants, and growing, from 1-6 p.m. The event benefits Camp Kudzu, NetWorks Cooperative Ministry and Old Town Tucker Merchants Association. 

The 12th annual clean-up of the South Fork Peachtree Creek is a community event, and this year’s event is being held on Oct. 16. Tucker Civic Association, Friends of Tucker Path and Tucker-Northlake CID will hold Rivers Alive for volunteers age 10 and up from 9 a.m. to noon. 

Halloween is a popular holiday in Tucker with two events for all ages of spooky goblins. On Oct. 29, Parks and Rec is back with a spooky Haunted Trail experience at Henderson Park. For a mild fright join before dark, and for a scary experience stop by after the sun goes down.

On Oct. 31, Trunk or Treat is from 4-8 p.m. on Main Street in Tucker. Nancy Qarmout, of Tucker Farmers Market fame, puts on the event in partnership with DeKalb County Fraternal Order of Police. Volunteers can sign up to distribute candy to an expected 5,000 kids by e-mailing [email protected].   

Tuckers Farmers Market is ongoing throughout the fall with in-person and online ordering options, every Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.  

The city is planning Campfire and Cocktails at Kelley Cofer Park Peach Pit on Nov. 13 from 5-8 p.m. It’s a free family event with hot dogs, s’mores and a fall cocktail put on by Tucker Parks and Recreation. Last year, the city held a COVID-friendly drive-thru event to hand out s’mores kits.
