Atlanta, GA — DeKalb County Police are investigating a deadly crash that occurred on Briarcliff Road near Lakeside High on Nov. 2.

“It is preliminary, but investigators believe that around 2:30 p.m., the deceased, an adult female driver, was driving her vehicle when she hit another vehicle without stopping,” a spokesperson for the Police Department said. “Moments after driving off from that hit and run scene and in the proximity, the deceased struck a utility pole, which caused her fatal injuries. The other driver received minor injuries.”

Police did not provide the name of the deceased driver.

“Again, this is an active investigation, info is preliminary, and we have no other details at this time,” the spokesperson said.
