Tucker, GA — Election Day results for mayor and city council members are being reported in Tucker, and Mayor Frank Auman has been reelected to another term as Tucker’s mayor.

Auman, who celebrated his victory on Main Street at Ford’s BBQ on Nov. 2, said he is looking forward to getting to work with new council members.

“We are very proud of our early history in Tucker and the progress that we’ve made. We built a team out of the first group that was elected to office, and that’s what we’ll keep doing,” said Auman.

“The numbers don’t lie,” said Biro, making the concession at around 9:45 p.m. on Nov. 2. “This was my first time ever running for elected office and we did a really good showing. It was a sprint to the finish.”

Robin Biro 3146/43.33%

Results for city council members were not in at the time of Auman’s statement, but he said he is looking forward to getting together with his new colleagues on the council.

“It was a really rough election, mine as well as the others. We’ve got a lot of healing to do, a lot of coming together to do. But we’re ready to get started,” Auman said.

Biro said the moral victory of the race was bringing to light the need for a Non-Discrimination Ordinance. Auman has been criticized for a resolution presented on Oct. 12 for Tucker to be recognized as an inclusive, fair and welcoming city.

“Frank Auman had a change of heart [on the NDO] and evolved in his humanity. He now sees it is a concern for Tucker residents,” said Biro, adding he has begun working with outgoing councilmember Pat Soltys on the future of the non-discrimination resolution.
