Tucker, GA — Tucker City Council is meeting for the final session of 2021 on Dec. 13, and the agenda is packed. A special called meeting will kick off the night at 6 p.m. to honor outgoing council members, Michelle Penkava, Matt Robbins and Pat Soltys.

City Council members will hear plans to revamp the city’s website, usage of American Rescue Funds and proposed sidewalk projects on Brockett Road and Montreal Road.

The following land use ordinances are up for a second read and City Council vote:

– Modification to zoning by Rocklyn Homes for a townhome development on Tucker Norcross Road, which has struggled to gain approval from neighbors and Planning Commission;

– Special Land Use Permit (SLUP) by Phoenix Wellness Center to open a wellness spa on Idlewood Road, a second metro Atlanta location for the Tucker resident Natalie Phoenix;

– Rezoning from light industrial (M) to small lot residential mix (RSM) on eight parcels of land at Juliette Road and E. Ponce de Leon Avenue, an area with a high crime rate.

Chick-fil-A requested a deferral to Dec. 13 on the application for a SLUP and variances at 4435 Hugh Howell Road, but the item will likely be deferred again.

City Council meetings are held at Tucker City Hall, 1975 Lakeside Parkway, Tucker, GA 30084.
