DeKalb County, GA — DeKalb County Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash on the I-285 north entrance ramp at Lawrenceville Highway.

The crash resulted in the road being temporarily closed on Feb. 17.

“Investigators believe the victim, a female in her early 40s, was struck by a tractor trailer,” a spokesperson for the Police Department said. “The ramp was closed for a moment, but has since reopened … No one has been charged, and the details leading up to the accident are still under investigation.”

That’s not the only pedestrian fatality that has occurred in DeKalb County this month. There was an incident on Feb. 5 at Memorial Drive and George Luther Drive. It occurred around 12:45 p.m.

“Investigators believe the victim, an adult male, as struck by a vehicle heading east on Memorial Drive,” the Police Department spokesperson said. “The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he died.”

Police so far have not identified the victim or provided any other details, other than saying the driver will not be charged in connection with that crash.
