Clarkston, GA — Comcast customers in the Clarkston area lost high-speed internet service Wednesday morning, March 9.

According to Comcast’s website, the estimated restoration time is noon. A spokesperson said the disruption is due to a power outage.

It’s also unclear how widespread the outage is because the outage maps offer customers a limited view of outages in their area. Based on the information Tucker Observer can see, it appears as many as 4,000 customers may be affected. The zip codes affected by the outage include 30079, 30021, 30030 and 30033.

A Comcast spokesperson says the number of affected customers is closer to 300. Tucker Observer asked the spokesperson to check again, based on information reported on Comcast’s outage map.

The Comcast spokesperson said, “We have five nodes down in that area due to a power outage. We’re sending techs with generators right now. Approximately 300 customers out of service.”

This story will be updated when more information is available.
