DeKalb Police respond to fatal shooting in Tucker

A crime mapping tool showed a homicide at that location on Saturday, April 9.
The DeKalb County Police Department confirmed they’re investigating a homicide that occurred in the area.
“On April 9, at approximately 10:21 p.m., officers responded to the Chevron located at 1531 Cooledge Road in reference to a person shot,” a spokesperson for the Police Department said. “The victim was located in the grassy area between the store and the access road. EMS responded and he was pronounced dead on scene. There is no subject in custody. The investigation is on-going and we have no further information at this time.”
It wasn’t immediately known why the public wasn’t notified about the case, but the DeKalb Police Department recently lost its public information officer. This story will be updated if more information becomes available.
