Tucker, GA — Bambinelli’s, a casual Italian restaurant considered by locals to be a staple in Tucker, is closing its doors on June 27 – but they’ll reopen in a new location on June 29 at 2039 Crescent Centre Blvd in Tucker.

The two-mile move is allowing for twice the amount of space, according to What Now Atlanta

“Northlake has been our home since 1980 and we will carry many fond memories with us, but the time has come to give the community and our family of staff and guests the Bambinelli’s they deserve,” the restaurant posted on social media.

Bonnie Bambinelli, who died in 2019, opened the first location in Tucker. Known for her enveloping hugs, wide smile, and sappy jokes, Bambinelli never met a stranger. She photographed everyone who came into the restaurant, always carrying a cell phone and posting pictures on social media. Remarkable, friends said, for a woman her age.

Her son Joseph grew up in the restaurant, and now runs the family business. Bambinelli’s has three other locations in Lilburn, Roswell and Midtown Atlanta.
