During the special called meeting at 7 p.m., city council will vote on the city’s millage rate and three Parks and Recreation contracts. The current millage rate is.9 and the city is considering lowering the rate to .848. A work session will immediately follow the special called meeting with presentations from community partners.
At the work session, Tucker Summit CID will discuss safety. The CID is seeking to add street lighting to three areas: N. Royal Atlanta and S. Royal Atlanta Drive, Mountain Industrial Boulevard at E. Ponce de Leon Avenue and side streets off Mountain Industrial Boulevard.
Local real estate professionals will join Tucker Downtown Development Authority, Tucker-Northlake CID and Urban Land Institute in a discussion on redevelopment plans south of Main Street.
The old RV lot, a property purchased by the city from Cofer Brothers in September 2021 for $1.2 million, is becoming a park. Barge Design Solutions, the company that worked on Tucker’s Parks Master Plan, will present videos and commentary on similar parks, said Tucker Communications Manager Sonja Szubski. This is the initial step to generate feedback from the mayor and City Council members.
