Tucker, GA — New restaurants will be coming to Tucker this summer and fall, including a Korean-fusion restaurant and Jersey Mike’s. Both restaurants will be in the Hugh Howell Marketplace.

Chloe Jung and Gavin Lee will open The Bite of Korea in late August or September at 4650 Hugh Howell Road. Lee moved from South Korea a few years ago and had a dream of opening a business. He started this dream by taking over a cafeteria in an office building in March 2020, one week before the COVID-19 pandemic and shut down, according to a press release.

To make ends meet, he realized he’d have to get creative, so Lee started a pop-up restaurant business separate from the cafeteria business. Lee has operated the pop-up business for over a year in the greater Atlanta area. The couple plan to open their first brick and mortar location in Tucker later this summer.

“We are excited that this is going to be the first Korean restaurant in the city of Tucker, and pleased to be doing business along with the exciting neighbors like Antico Pizza, First Watch, Gusto in the Hugh Howell Marketplace shopping center,” Jung said in a press release. “My husband, Gavin, and I are both South Korean immigrants who have called Georgia home for the past few years, and we can’t wait to share our culture and food with more people in this wonderful city.”

The Bite of Korea will be part of the Hugh Howell Marketplace, which is the newest shopping center in Tucker.

Developer Branch Properties confirmed the businesses up and running are Publix, Piedmont Urgent Care, Buffalo Wild Wings Go and ATI Physical Therapy. Other businesses opening in the shopping center include Antico Pizza, Gusto, First Watch and Jersey Mike’s. Businesses will continue opening through the summer.

Jersey Mike’s Subs opened on June 29 at the Hugh Howell Marketplace. Franchise owners Kimberly and Angelo Crowell held a grand opening and fundraiser from June 29 to July 3 to support the East DeKalb Boys and Girls Club, according to a press release.

Guests can place orders in-store or for pickup through the website or through the Jersey Mike’s app. Additionally, delivery is available in most areas through the Jersey Mike’s app or through third-party delivery partners. Curbside pickup is available for orders placed in Jersey Mike’s app.

The restaurant’s hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
