DeKalb County sponsoring GoGreen environmental event

DeKalb County, GA — DeKalb County will be a co-sponsor of the upcoming GoGreen event in partnership with DHL Express.

“This participatory event is free and aspires to raise awareness and appreciation of sustainability within our communities,” a press release from the county says. “Various partners engaged in environmental / conservation work shall also be in attendance to share an overview of their organization and programs.”

The event is being held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Wade Walker Park, 5585 Rockbridge Road in Stone Mountain, GA on Saturday, Oct. 15. The event is rain or shine.

The event will include:

– A tree planting

– An invasive species workshop

– Arts and crafts for the kids

– Trail maintenance

– Litter pickup

– A solar-powered DHL pop-up

– Electric bike and electric vehicle displays

– A succulent plant giveaway

– A DHL goodie bag
