Stone Mountain, GA — A gang member has been sentenced to life without parole plus 45 years after being convicted of murder and other charges, the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office said.

The DA’s office said 26-year-old William Moore-Earvin was part of the “Drug Rich” gang originating in Stone Mountain.

Moore-Earvin was sentenced on Sept. 9, the press release said.

“DeKalb County jurors returned guilty verdicts against Moore-Earvin in late August on charges of Murder, Felony Murder (three counts), Armed Robbery (two counts), Aggravated Assault, and weapons offenses in connection with the shooting death of 19-year-old Andrew Miller,” the District Attorney’s Office said. “The incident happened on July 6, 2020, at the Ashland Pine apartment complex on Walden Walk Circle in Stone Mountain. DeKalb police officers responded to the location on a ‘person shot’ call. Upon arrival, they found victim Miller on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was unresponsive. Emergency personnel attempted to render aid, but Miller died of his injuries at the scene.”

Investigators learned that the victim and a friend were at the location to purchase a gun from Moore-Earvin and to sell a rifle to him.

“After a brief meeting in the breezeway with Defendant Moore-Earvin and two other men who were with him, victim Miller returned to his car to retrieve the weapon he was selling,” the District Attorney’s Office said. “Miller fired several demonstration shots into a tree before the weapon jammed. At that point, Defendant Moore-Earvin turned his gun on victim Miller and his friend and ordered them to ‘give it up.’ The Defendant then shot victim Miller in the chest. All three suspects then held the victim’s friend at gunpoint, before stealing his phone and escaping in victim Miller’s white Toyota Corolla.”

Social media records showed that there was a celebration following the shooting held at Moore-Earvin’s apartment.

“The victim’s gun, stolen from the scene, was spotted on the floor of the Defendant’s apartment in one of the videos posted on social media,” the District Attorney’s Office says. “Defendant Moore-Earvin was arrested on murder charges ten days after the crime. The victim’s car was located in plain view in front of the Defendant’s complex at the time of his arrest. Co-defendants Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Dawson and Arthur ‘Fazo’ Harriet were arrested a short time later for their roles in the crime. They are both currently awaiting trial.”
