Tucker, GA — A popular Tucker restaurant on Main Street is relocating.

Rumors spread online indicated that Hot Betty’s was either closing or relocating. The restaurant confirmed on its website that it would be relocating, but the message did not say where the restaurant would be moving.

“Hot Betty’s Breakfast Bar is Temporarily Closed,” the website message says. “We are in the process of relocating and will be staying in Tucker. “Thanks for your patience.  Stay tuned for updates.”

Attempts to reach the owners Shea Powell and Wes McNeil were unsuccessful. The restaurant’s phone number had been disconnected as of Friday, Sept. 23.

The restaurant opened in 2020, according to its website.

“Shea Powell and Wes McNeil started Hot Betty’s Breakfast Bar in the Summer of 2020 with one goal in mind: to deliver exceptional traditional and modern breakfast dishes to Tucker residents,” the website says. “They wanted to make a staple restaurant in Tucker that was more than just a place to eat; but a destination.”

In 2021, Powell announced she had bought Tucker House, the famous yellow cottage at the corner of Lynburn Drive and Lawrenceville Highway, with plans to turn it into a restaurant. Those plans haven’t materialized.
