Stone Mountain, GA — The city of Stone Mountain is kicking off the holiday season with its annual Christmas tree lighting celebration, Christmas parade, and fireworks show on Saturday, Dec. 3.  

Activities will begin at 4 p.m. in the Municipal Parking Lot, located at 922 Main Street, with arts and crafts vendors, and “Letter to Santa” writing stations. There will also be performances by community groups, hot cocoa, cider and cookies. The event will feature train rides for the kids as well. 

The annual Christmas parade will roll out in Downtown Stone Mountain Village on Dec. 3 at 6 p.m., beginning at the corner of Mountain Avenue and Main Street. The parade will travel south, turn left and end on Mimosa. Santa Claus, floats, antique cars, dance groups, and others will participate in this anticipated annual event. The tree lighting and fireworks will take place following the parade.
